Vitamins and Supplements

Taking vitamins and supplements daily is one of the smartest things you can do for yourself and your health. Some people tell you it’s a bunch of baloney and many doctor’s used to think it was unnecessary, however, science has proven that it definitely has a positive effect.

The biggest need for these vitamins and supplements is that our food today is no longer fresh and full of half the vitamins it used to have. Heck, we even try to get organic fruits and vegetables now in the hopes that they have more vitamins and minerals and whatnot. It’s a joke. The reason why the food is not as vitamin rich is that it is often picked before it is ripe.

You have to understand that with fruits and vegetables, the biggest portion of vitamins and minerals and antioxidants is not released into them until just at the time of ripeness. The roots release all these vitamins at that time. When something is picked before it’s ripe, it’s missing a whole lot of good vitamins. Growers do this because it takes about 2 weeks to get produce to market. If they waited, everything would be over ripe and ugly. Of course, nobody will buy ugly fruit or vegetables. But in the process of looking better we are hurting ourselves by limiting the healthy vitamins we get from that food.

This is why there is a huge need for vitamin supplements in our diets. One of the best ways is to supplement with a multi vitamin supplement but also with a phyto based supplements. If you purchase a high quality one, you can literally get your whole day’s worth of recommended fruit and vegetables from one serving. And it will be at about 10% of the cost too. The best ones are the freeze dried powders. They taste terrible, I must say. But the vitamins and minerals and nutrition inside them is well worth it. Try mixing it with different juices until you find a taste that you like.

Also, please bear in mind that with everything else in life, you often get what you pay for when purchasing vitamins and supplements. I would go into a local health store and talk to the owner. They are usually very well informed on vitamins and supplements. You don’t have to end up buying there, but they will tell you the best quality brands. You can then look them up online and see if they are cheaper.
